Brazelton's stages of attachment

T. Berry Brazelton described four stages in the early infant-caregiver interaction (check out his book in the Book Section). These stages are:

    1) homeostatic control,(7-10 days)
    2) prolonged attention and interaction (1-8 weeks),
    3) testing limits (3-4 months), and,
    4) emergency of autonomy (4-5 months).
