What are the benefits of a child being securely attached?

Secure Attachment

Children who are securely attached tend to have the following characteristics:
higher self-esteem
stronger relationships and friendships
more control over their emotions
less impulsivivity
are more cooperative
are more independent
have stronger core beliefs and values
have resilience

A child with a secure attachment thinks: "I am good, worthy, and wanted". Whereas, a child with a insecure attachment may feel: "I am bad, worthless, and unloveable."
