Tip of the Week

All day long the brain takes in information through the senses (sight, sound, taste, touch, smell, etc.). Information that is taken in is put into, what I call, short term memory until the brain decides what to do with it. The brain can`t possibly file away everything it takes in so it has to be selective. During the night when we are asleep, the brain does its filing. This, stressful or traumatic experiences, even if from the past, are brought to the semi-conscious as the brain tries to make sense of them or tries to compare new information to that of the past in order to determine if there is a pattern or not.
