October 24, 2003, Newsletter Issue #99: What to Say?

Tip of the Week

If you are in a group and cannot think of anything to say but want to be part of the situation, try reflecting back what another person is saying. For example, "Did I hear you right that you once lived in New York? What was that like?" Ask open ended questions such as "Tell me more about..." or "How do you feel about..." In this way, the other person won`t be answering with a simple `yes` or `no` response. More next week.
