What are hot flashes caused from?

Hot Flashes

Woman Symbol
A common symptom of menopause is hot flashes. Hot flahses are caused by levels of estrogen and progesterone falling in the body. The body begins to fail making these two hormones as a woman ages. This process typically takes place sometime between the ages of 40 and 50, but many women begin experiencing symptoms, particularly hot flashes, before the age of 40. It is also not uncommon for a woman to not experience hot flashes until much later.
