November 21, 2003, Newsletter Issue #103: Do Men See Dust?

Tip of the Week

While men do see dust, they see dust in an entirely different way than most women see dust. In other words, they see "chair," "plant," "couch," and "dust." All have basically the same emotional meaning. Women, on the other hand, are more susceptible to assigning conscious and unconscious motives to what they see. Instead of seeing just "dust," they see "dust -- the person coming is going to think I am a sloppy housekeeper." Or, "The person will think I am a poor wife and mother." That might explain why women get so much more emotional about the issue then men.
