Which do you chose?" Giving a child a choice can often eliminate a power struggle. Remember to follow through, however, EVERY TIME! If the child choses to refuse to pick up the toys now, then DO NOT let him/her go outside later. The child needs to pick up the toys while others are playing to learn a valuable lesson about consequences of life!
